HOUSE GROUPS | SMALL GROUPS | COMMUNITY GROUPS
Would you like to be part of a small group in the Abbey? The congregations are big and it’s easy as a newcomer to feel lost in the crowd. In our small groups we aim to create supportive communities where we each grow in our discipleship as we seek to follow Jesus and put his teaching into practice. Each group has its own personality but all include Bible study, prayer, support and encouragement, challenge, spiritual nourishment and social activities. It’s an environment where you can ask questions and share at a deeper level with a few people. At most of our groups, the Sunday readings and talk are discussed, usually with questions which are written by the person who has given that Sunday’s talk. These questions are intended to challenge us on how we should live as a result of what the Bible says. Other groups plan their own programmes.
Although none of our groups are able to meet during the current coronavirus emergency, there are normally 12 groups meeting either weekly or fortnightly at many different times during the week, so hopefully there will be something for everybody. Please email the parish office (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to find a group that suits you.
