Covid-19: Malmesbury Town Council & Heals Charity support for vulnerable individuals & families includes Telephone Helpline, Options for Food & Essential Supplies & Emergency Hardship Fund Appeal

Malmesbury Town Council in partnership with local charity HEALS and Malmesbury’s Community Groups are providing co-ordinated volunteer activity to support vulnerable individuals and families resolve problems around essential food purchases, food and prescription collection, well-being and other requirements which may emerge. A telephone hotline is available 01666 815888 plus three key solutions for food and essential supplies and a newly launched Emergency Hardship Fund set up with the support of Mayor Julie Exton and fifteen past Mayors https://localgiving.org/appeal/malmesburyhardshipfund/

The helpline is available to support vulnerable individuals and families and help resolve problems around essential food purchases, food and prescription collection, well-being and other requirements which may emerge. Helpline 01666 815888 is open:

Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm

Saturday & Sunday 9am to 6pm

Bank Holidays 8am to 8pm

2.THREE FOOD & ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES Solutions

1. If you need food and essential supplies and have no money or access to money, we can refer you for a Malmesbury Foodbank Voucher.

2. If you are at home, unable to get a slot on a supermarket delivery system and can’t get out to buy food or essential supplies we can help you with our ordering and home delivery system in place with the Co-Operative Store in Gloucester Road. We will manage the purchasing and delivery for you and we take all types of payment.

3. If you are offered an online supermarket slot but would like help completing the order on your computer or if you need shopping just call the helpline 01666 815888 and one of our Registered Volunteers will help.

3. MALMESBURY EMERGENCY HARDSHIP FUND APPEAL

We are very proud of our community and the way it pulls together to help those in need. Now, more than ever this is needed. We have residents and families with children who have already run out of money and need essential food, household supplies and support with bills. As time goes on, we do not want to see any local people not receiving basic essentials or resorting to solutions such as expensive loans just to survive. Therefore, with the full support of Malmesbury Town Council, our Mayor Julie Exton and fifteen past Mayors an Emergency Hardship Fund has been set up to be managed by Heals as a registered charity. Please support this appeal and be as generous as you can.‎ Donations can be made either:
