Andrew Beebee - Children’s & Youth Minister (full-time)
Andrew joined the Abbey staff in February 2015. He had previously been working as a Children’s Minister in London and before that a Primary School Teacher. After leaving school he studied Theology at Durham University. His heart is to see children and youth experiencing a relationship with God for themselves. Andrew is married to Jude and they have two bunnies, Rambo and Scoop . He enjoys being outside, sailing, fishing and watching rugby.
Sandie Brown - Abbey Administrator (part-time)
Born and raised in a village on the edge of the New Forest, I came to Malmesbury 15 years ago with my husband, Marc After taking a career break and enjoying life as a full-time wife, and mum to Amelia and Lucy I was excited to accept the position of Parish Administrator for what, I thought, would be a 'nice little job for a year'.....nine years later and I'm still enjoying life working in the Abbey Office where there is never a dull moment. When I'm not working, I love being with my family and taking walks in the countryside or by the sea or entertaining visitors at home or better still, going out for a good nosh-up!
Pete Campbell - Lay Minister
Pete is married to Katharine and they have 3 children - Luke, Sophie and Ollie. They have attended the Abbey since 1997 and have enjoyed being involved in Youth Work, Junior Church and ministries specific to men and women. Pete is a lay minister, oversees the Youth Department and will usually be seen at the 4pm service. Pete is a Social Worker and works for Bath Local Authority. When not at work he is usually competing against his children at either football, running, table tennis or the TV remote control.
Mandy Churcher - Associate Minister & Chaplain to Older People (part-time)
Revd Mandy Churcher has served as Associate Minister at the Abbey and May Moore Chaplain since June 2011. The primary purpose of her role is the pastoral and spiritual care of older people in Malmesbury and includes many different aspects of working within the community and care homes, alongside statutory and voluntary agencies and also acting as both a liaison and signposting agent and responding to the needs of both the community and individuals. Working with volunteers and team building is an essential part of her role. Prior to this Mandy worked for 37 years in both the NHS , as a nurse and then midwifeincluding five years on the community (Think'Call the midwife') in the East End of London and latterly as a chaplain based in the South West. She also worked in Higher education for City University as a senior midwifery lecturer. As well as work and ministry Mandy loves walking in the countryside but especially coastal walking and travelling when able; in 2015 she had an extended visit to the bottom of Africa and later Columbia. Her relationship with God, friendships, and humour keep her sane.
Anne Cox - Arts Administrator (Fridays)
Anne has an Honours Degree in Philosophy and a Foundation Degree in Creative Arts Therapy. When she is not co-ordinating arts events in the Abbey, she facilitates therapeutic art workshops in palliative care and mental health settings. She loves sacred and early classical music and has been in the Abbey Choir for over a decade now. As well as singing she loves books, has trod the boards in Am.Dram., is an enthusiastic up-cycler, amateur cook, painter and writer and loves craft work.
Rob Hitchings - Bookshop Manager (part-time)
Rob has been the Abbey bookshop manager since September 2002. He loves books and music, and is responsible for the development of the ministry of the shop to the Christian community as well as to our many visitors, the management of the staff and stewards and the day to day running of the business. He graduated in dentistry in Birmingham in 1972, and spent 23 years working in the health service, where he specialised in the treatment of children. He is married to Gill who works at the Malmesbury Primary Care Centre, and they have four daughters, Rosie, Clem, Nicole and Felicity.
Alice Monaghan - Associate Minister
Alice was training to be an architect when she felt God nudging her towards ordination. After working in New York in architecture, she studied Theology at Ridley Hall in Cambridge and was curate, trained by Paul Williams, at St James, Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire. While her husband, John (the Abbey curate!) was training for ordination in Bristol she was Assistant Vicar at Christ Church, Clifton. Alice is now the school chaplain at Westonbirt School and is licensed to Malmesbury Abbey as Associate Minister. Her passions include networking for the Kingdom of God, encouraging people in their communication with God and making the good news of Jesus available to all ages. Alice enjoys the outdoors with John, and 3 young children, murder mysteries on ITV3, art, architecture, winning backgammon, running, cooking, friends, family, Jesus and prayer.
John Monaghan - Curate
Revd John is married to Revd Alice (see above!) and they have three children, Clara, Toby and Philip. John joined the team at the Abbey in June 2013 and is in his final year of his Curacy. John has a heart for worship and evangelism and has been overseeing the Abbey's 4 o'clock informal sung-worship ministry, our monthly praise and worship evenings ('Glory'!), and weekly leadership-team worship. He has been leading Alpha and Parenting courses, Abbey Skate, a discipleship group, and other evangelistic events. He works closely with the local Church of England Primary school to help strengthen connections with the Abbey, and delivers regular assemblies, together with our Children's and Youth minister, Andrew Beebee. Before doing an MA in Theology with the University of Bristol, John completed an MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia, and has worked for several years as a Physiotherapist, in the NHS and in a private capacity, including a professional football team! He has an interest in the field of holistic health and has been a competive Triathlete for the past three years.
Catherine Price - Lay Prior
Catherine has been worshipping at the Abbey since 2007. She is a licensed Lay Minister and a keen member of the Abbey Choir. When she’s not at the Abbey she works as an assessment and development consultant with The Moor House Partnership. She is married to Nigel, who is lay pastor of King’s Stanley Baptist Church near Stroud, and they have two grown up daughters and two cats. Catherine loves choral and folk music, quizzes, cooking and entertaining, detective stories and science fiction. She is a supporter of Minety RFC and enjoys watching football and cricket.
Linda Sullivan - Curate
Linda was ordained priest in Bristol Cathedral in July 2015. She served as a Lay Minister for many years before moving to Malmesbury, and then trained part-time at Trinity College, Bristol before her ordination as an Ordained Local Minister (OLM). Linda has a particular pastoral responsibility for our 10.30am congregation and seeks to encourage people wherever they are on their journey with Christ, especially at the pivotal points of birth, marriage and death. Linda is married to Chris, who sings in the Abbey Choir and also serves as a sacristan and Abbey steward. They have a large grown up family and 10 grandchildren.
