Our aim in Junior Church is to share and teach the relevance of Christianity and how the children can get to know Jesus Christ as their personal friend and Saviour through guidance, reading and prayer.
Junior Church classes meet most Sundays of the year. On a typical Sunday we enjoy the first part of the main service in the Abbey at 4pm. Children usually choose to sit with their parents but they do have the option to sit with other children at the front of the church. After 10-15 minutes Junior Church members leave the Abbey service to enjoy their own classes in Le Flambé Christian Centre, Birdcage Walk.
Our classes look at a part of the Bible each week, using material from the Scripture Union LIGHT series. The 3 classes follow the same subjects in an age appropriate way. For further information see www.scriptureunion.org.uk
We ensure appropriate adult to children ratios are maintained in the classes. All regular leaders and helpers are CRB checked.
There are times when Junior Church Members stay in the Abbey’s main service. The 4th Sunday of each Calendar month is usually an All Age worship and communion service which tries to be varied and fast moving, involving ‘all ages’ in the singing and teaching.
When there is a fifth Sunday, there is no 4pm service on that day. Instead, all of us come together for a Church Communion service at 10.30 am.

We sometimes use All Age Worship formats for services at special times in the Christian Calender (Easter, Pentecost, Christmas).
